Team Sports Basketball Age Determining Date/Grade Exception Rule
Fall & Winter Seasons: Age verification date is September 1st. Example: Player turns 9 on September 2nd. Player is eligible to play in 7-8 Division for the Fall and Winter Seasons. Spring and Summer Seasons: Age verification date is March 1st. Player turns 11 on March 2nd. Player is eligible to play in 9-10 Division for the Spring and Summer Seasons. Grade Exception Rule: Each team is allowed a maximum of two grade exception players. Grade is checked on September 1st and March 1st. Grade exception players may not exceed age limit by more than one year. Grade exceptions not allowed for single age divisions (11U and 13U).
Note: Players may be added to the team roster (up to the league maximum) up to the start of the third game. Players must wait until the next season after that. Players must be certified in accordance with the Player Certification procedures prior to the start of the third game. |
